Jennifer Parks |
Jennifer Parks has over 20 years experience in the eye care field and is an American Optometric Association certified Para-Optometric. She is also a member of the COVD and has attended many continuing education courses. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Huntsville at an early age. Throughout her school years Jennifer struggled to keep up with the rest of her class as her reading was slow and difficult but, being a bright child, she persevered. Working in eye care, she became aware that her own reading difficulties were vision-related. Jennifer went on to be trained in the Scheiman method of Vision Therapy. In 2005 Jennifer became Director of the Visual Performance Center.
According to Jennifer, “Many learning problems go undiagnosed as vision-related, many children fall behind in school, are labeled as being slow, with attention difficulties or dyslexic.” She adds that “Many will suffer from low self-esteem and never understand that they are not seeing like everyone else.” Jennifer understands how they feel and has compassionately taken on the challenge of making a difference in the lives of these children. |

Our Vision Therapist, Deborah, is an ABO Certified Optician with 15 year's of optical experience and over 4 years experience in Vision Therapy . Deborah is a native of Phoenix, Arizona and has lived in Huntsville since 1986. Deborah is a member of COVD and has attended many continuing education courses offered by the COVD and their affiliates. She enjoys working with children and is dedicated to seeing them excel. |
